She makes those beautiful pieces into belts, necklaces, pendants, pins, and just about anything else you can think of. What I don’t think of is classic Zuni cluster work, but one look at this belt and you realize she is as good as any in this style. Like many of the great artists in Zuni today she comes from a family with a long history of art making. Diane is the sister to Lorraine Waatsa, the daughter of legendary Zuni artist Alice Quam, don’t need any better teachers than those. This belt has six conchos, seven butterflies, and a buckle of stunning Sleeping Beauty Turquoise clusters. The sky blue color of the stones is spectacular and will age beautifully.
